AWANA

AWANA is a global, nonprofit ministry committed to the belief that the greatest impact for Christ starts with kids who know, love and serve Him. The name AWANA comes from key words in the Bible verse 2 Timothy 2:15.
Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed

Our AWANA Clubs meet each Wednesday evening from September through April for children from age 3 through 6th grade. Parents are encouraged to help children at home so they know their verses and are prepared before they come to club.

When AWANA is cancelled due to bad weather, an announcement will be sent to WGRC 91.3 and 90.9 radio station.  Also, an announcement will be sent on the AWANA phone tree and published on the RLMC Family
and RLMC AWANA Facebook pages.

AWANA will be cancelled automatically according to the following policy:  If BOTH the Juniata County AND Midd-West school districts have a cancellation or early dismissal on a Wednesday, ALL clubs will be cancelled.

Cubbies

Cubbies are split into two groups, 3 & 4 years old and 4&5 years old. Both groups meet in the basement of the church sanctuary. They spend time playing and interacting with each other, singing, story and puppet time, reciting their verse for the night and, of course, snacks!  Cubbies also have special events such as the AWANA Hayride, Bounce House, and a birthday party for Jesus!

Sparks

Sparks is for children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. They are split into 3 groups according to their grade and meet in the classrooms in the basement of the Fellowship Hall. A night at Sparks consists of singing, game time, and reciting verses. They often have special themed nights. They also have special events such as the AWANA Hayride, Matchbox Car Races, Sparks-a-rama, and the Sparky Fair! Children earn awards for their accomplishments, and most importantly learn God's Word to hide in their hearts!

Truth & Training

Truth and Training, also known as T & T, is for children in 3rd through 6th grades. This group is split into four groups according to grade and gender and meet in the upstairs of the church sanctuary.

  • K'Nects - 3rd & 4th grade girls
  • Bible Techs - 3rd & 4th grade boys
  • Cookie Bytes - 5th & 6th grade girls
  • Chargers - a5th & 6th grade boys

Each club night consists of 3 segments (not necessarily in order):

Small Group Time where clubbers recite Bible verses they have learned and think about and discuss Bible topics.

Game Time where clubbers participate in organized team games for fun and to promote good sportsmanship.

Large Group Time which is a special time with a Bible lesson, singing, and presentation of  awards  for handbook work that is accomplished.
